Gosh what a weekend! The kids were on an inset day on Friday and just as well as we had to travel down to Coventry for a surprise 40th birthday party for a friend of ours who we met in Lanzarote 5 years ago. His face was an absolute picture when he walked in. There was much dancing, drinking and singing on the karaoke done that evening and we finally fell into bed at around 2.30am in the morning. Now, I'm not entirely sure when kids get their energy from but they were up and raring to go at 7am the next day whereas we adults were struggling a bit to say the least (thank goodness for Red Kooga).
A walk into Bedworth followed by sitting and watching the kids play in the park whilst soaking up the sun was just what the doctor ordered. We drove home later Saturday afternoon and I couldn't be bothered to cook so the kids had takeaway pizza and we phoned out for a chinese.
Sunday was a day of running about all over the place as usual - went to see my mother in law whilst my husband was at work, dropped the kids there while I did the weekly shop, dropped my eldest daughter at gymnastics (she's in training for a competition), picked up my youngest and went home, my parents arrived to see the kids, husband came home, picked up eldest from gymnastics and then got to sit down and relax!
Watched a good film last night though (football was on in the dining room but we didn't really watch it) - The Wolfman with Benicio Del Toro. Made me jump several times and the special affects are amazing! Anyway, its on with normal life today and back to the grind - swimming lessons later followed by a session at the gym.
In the picture me on left with my friend from Coventry, Julie Jacques.
